How to Stop Wasting Time
How much is your screen time up?
I watched mine go from about 3 hours (pre-corona) up to 4.5 hours last Sunday. That’s nuts! To actually sit there and consume that much content. Sure if you’re a business owner, good on you if you’re getting that much work coming through and you’re on the phone and using your phone to communicate with clients.
But have a look at that next time next time you get your screen report. As a business owner, you want to be a producer, not a consumer. You want to be creating that content, talking about your business, creating your installation videos, getting reviews, creating content about educating your clients on how you operate, things that work, things that don’t work.
Work that out over the years – three hours a week – that’s 12 hours a month – that’s 144 hours a year. You could be spending that time writing a book or spending that time working on another side hustle. So start to become more and more self-aware about how much time you spend on your phone.
Unless you’re using it to be a creator, good on you, but if you’re a consumer, you’re basically cutting your life away and you’re giving away all your energy, all your creativity. It just gets absorbed into your phone. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been stuck on there scrolling before, but I’m very self aware of it these days.
The second that I start getting sucked into it, I quickly put it away. So start to be more aware of it guys and use that time to be a creator or use that time to start working on your next side hustle. Write a book, get out there, exercise just change your life by switching this thing off.
